While you may know about the existence of pollution, not many are aware that it has several different types. In fact, there are SEVEN types of pollution, from air to sound. Here is a brief summary of all the aspects of pollution (more detailed articles focusing on each category will be posted soon).

1. Air Pollution

The contamination of air by smoke and harmful gases

2. Land Pollution

The degradation of the Earth's surface caused by a misuse of resources and improper disposal of waste

3. Light Pollution

The brightening of the night sky by the use of improper lighting of communities.

4. Noise Pollution

Any loud sounds that are either harmful or annoying to humans and animals.

5. Thermal Pollution

The increase of temperature caused by human activity.

6. Radioactive Pollution

The release of radioactive substances or high-energy particles into the air, water or earth as a result of human activity.

7. Water Pollution

The contamination of any body of water.
